For the Home:: Storage Solutions
I am still moving things around trying to figure out the best arrangement for things around the new house. It is a trying time. I've assembled some inspiring home organization images to keep me on course! Allow me to share...

Tuesday Project:: Framed Keys
Now, that we're all moved in I plan on framing the keys from bluehouse to hang in the new place. Something to remember our first place by...

For the Home:: Pink Perfection
After years as a raging tomboy, I had a life changing experience with red lipstick and began a journey into the girly years for whence I hope to never emerge. That being said, I have always loved pink, even when the only pink I wore was a Pink Floyd t-shirt over baggy jeans (gotta love the 90s). I would love to find new ways of incorporating pink into my home but I have to negotiate space with the fella and I don't know how in favor he would be of my color scheme. We'll continue negotiations...
There is a difference between a soft hue and a Barbie palace nightmare.
What if we painted only half the walls pink??
I do the cooking so I should pick the color of the kitchen. In fairness, he does the dishes. I hate dishes.
Alright, alright, maybe we could just highlight in pink?

For the Home:: Kitchen Gadgets
Since deciding I'm a wiz in the kitchen, I think it's time to expand my kitchen gadget collection. The wishlist is a work in progress but here are some items I'm considering...
The Julienne Peeler... genius.
Salt & Pepper Maracas
Gun-Egg Thing... okay, these selections lean more towards style than function. Bu, hey, it's my kitchen.

For the Home:: Is the canopy too much?
I love canopies despite the fact I have never actually had one up in my room... unless you count the sheet I put up to enclose my bunk when my kid brother and I shared a room back in the day. Somehow, I just haven't had a room that could pull off the splendor of a canopy. Someday, perhaps.

Sure, I'll go camping...
This week's "For the Home" post is actually, sort of, an out-of-the-home post. One of my friends just got back from a weekend camping trip with her kids and I got to thinking, "Would I like to go camping?" My answer? Yes, maybe, I think... given the proper amenities.
"The Proper Amenities"
1. A backseat, inflatable bed for when I get tired of sleeping on the ground/in the cold/ in the open where anything might attack.
2. Smores maker to avoid sticky messes when away from proper hand-washing equipment.
3. Sleeping bag suit, obviously.
4. Go Girl, giving the ladies outdoor bathroom privileges we always envied.

For the Home:: A Modern Gothic
Indulge your darker side. My mother says I have casket taste and she would know (wife of coroner).
I don't care.

For the Home:: Dramatic Lighting
Project Fancy-Up-the-House continues and today I'm considering some lighting changes for bluehouse.

For the Home:: Quaint Living
The Phoenix metro area is not known for its quaintness. Admittedly, there are some truly adorable neighborhoods and houses but Phoenicians would probably agree we are lacking quaintness... well, quaintness minus kitsch. I am fortunate to live in one of the stranger neighborhoods of Tempe where many of the few examples of Arizona quaintness reside. Thank goodness for little bluehouse. I will probably always opt for cuter, smaller (& older) homes. Such as these...

Monday Project!
I'm committing this year to some long due projects. One of these major commitments is to improving my home by condensing all the excessive items that plague it into a new, streamlined, minimalist den of thought and creation. I shoot big so even if I fall short I've accomplished something worthwhile.
Here's one plan of attack for a complete home re-organizing extravaganza! I'm formulating my own as I type...

For the home:: Grey Couch
I have an ugly brown couch I try to keep lively (a.k.a covered) with a throw my dog Eleanor slowly destroys over time. It's not a great system but it works for the time being. I want a grey couch. I might need to start a grey couch collection jar in my home.

For the Home:: Checklisting to Success
I have a heck of a time keeping track of the tasks I want to get done. Perhaps because my mother never provided me with such task handy options as a child, I've come to rely on them as an adult. This is a great website that allows you to customize your own list (in case "make bed" isn't on your list).
