For the Home:: Kitchen Things I Didn't Know I Needed

Now that I'm a regular Donna Reed in the kitchen, I find myself increasingly fascinated by kitchen gadgets. Never did I imagine I would be the girl to totally fixate on a paring knife for reasons other than considering the potential violence it could inflect. I guess we all grow up in some ways. Anyhoo, every product that promises new abilities or, to be honest, added adorableness for my kitchen gets a full inspection. Here are some of the latest finds that I'm considering for the collection...

Mr. Tea Infuser via Oh Gizmo

How cute is he?! And, since learning about what exactly is in my teabags, I've decided to make the switch to infusers.

"Al Dente" Pasta Timer via Solutions

He sings opera music when your pasta is done!

Auto Measure Spice Rack via Fresh Finds

This spice race measures out the required amounts for your recipes. How handy is that?

GEFU Spirelli Spiral Cutter via Amazon

Turns veggies into pasta. Oh, the miracles of modern science.

For the Home:: Kitchen Gadgets!

The new kitchen is a bit smaller than my current one but it has a lot more storage options so I'm think it will work out for the best. Maybe I can even invest in a couple new kitchen gadgets to increase my recipe options in the new house..?

How useful would this cutting board/scale be
for all those super-pro recipes that list ingredients by weight?

Monster toast every morning.
Wouldn't each day start off better or, at least, cuter?

I would first need a rolling pin.
Then these handy dough-measuring bands.

For the Home:: Kitchen Gadgets

Since deciding I'm a wiz in the kitchen, I think it's time to expand my kitchen gadget collection. The wishlist is a work in progress but here are some items I'm considering...

The Julienne Peeler... genius.

Salt & Pepper Maracas

Gun-Egg Thing... okay, these selections lean more towards style than function. Bu, hey, it's my kitchen.

Sure, I'll go camping...

This week's "For the Home" post is actually, sort of, an out-of-the-home post. One of my friends just got back from a weekend camping trip with her kids and I got to thinking, "Would I like to go camping?" My answer? Yes, maybe, I think... given the proper amenities.

"The Proper Amenities"

1.  A backseat, inflatable bed for when I get tired of sleeping on the ground/in the cold/ in the open where anything might attack.

2. Smores maker to avoid sticky messes when away from proper hand-washing equipment.

3. Sleeping bag suit, obviously.

4. Go Girl, giving the ladies outdoor bathroom privileges we always envied.
